Why should I become a MediGuard member and provide personal information?

If you decide you would like to sign up to receive personalised Medication Safety Checks and Safety Alerts, you will need to set up a member profile and provide certain personal information which is needed in order to provide you with these services.

Can I use the MediGuard website without becoming a MediGuard member?

You can use the MediGuard website without setting up a member profile to view general information about different medications. Without setting up a profile, however, you will not be able to take advantage of certain MediGuard offerings, such as Medication Safety Checks or Safety Alerts.

Why is my email address required?

Because our services are delivered by email, we need this information so we can communicate with you. Your email address is also an easily remembered way to access your MediGuard profile.

How can I set up a profile for a loved one?

Many families share email addresses. To create more than one registration using the same email address, simply log in to your MediGuard profile. On the right-hand side of the screen you will see a box with a person and + sign. Click the “Add a Patient” link in the box. A pop-up box will appear asking you to “Enter a New Profile Name”. Enter the name for the profile and click “OK”. The new profile will open up and you can begin to update it with your loved one’s information. To switch between MediGuard profiles, click on the downward arrow next to the profile name and a list of profile names will appear. Select the name of the profile you wish to see.

Setting Up Your Profile

How do I enter the names of my medications?

You can add medicines to your profile during the registration process or after you have created a profile. When you are prompted to add a medicine name, enter the first few letters of your medication's name and select your medication from the drop-down list of products that appears. It may take a few seconds after you start typing for the list to appear. Do not add medicine dosages, strengths or formulations (tablet, capsule, solution, etc.) when typing in the name of your medicine.

My medication isn't in the list, what do I do?

Please double check the spelling of the medication name and try again because all prescription products have been loaded into the system. If you still don't see the name of your medication, please email us at support@mediguard.org. support@mediguard.org.

I have entered all my medications, pressed save and they all disappeared. What do I do?

This most likely happened because the medication name was not entered correctly. Please remember - do not enter any type of dosages. Type in the first few letters of your medication name and you will see a drop-down list. You can select a medication from there.

Why would I agree to be informed of research and medical education opportunities?

If you want to support other safety research initiatives, want to learn more about your health or want to hear about special offers that may be of interest to you, MediGuard will, from time-to-time, inform you of relevant programmes. The content of these programmes will vary widely, but could include: information that is specific to managing your condition, market research opportunities to provide feedback about your medication experience, or more in-depth safety monitoring programmes. You can choose to participate or decline participation in any programme introduced to you.
